Reversal learning is completion of a task based upon the reversal of discrimination of the two stimuli. The human or animal is trained to respond differentially to two stimuli through reward and punishment conditions. Then the human or animal is subsequently trained under reversed reward values. This means that the approach which was previously rewarded is punished and vice versa.
