CANTAB - Spatial Span

Basic Characteristics

  • Description

The CANTAB (Cambridge Neuropsychological Test Automated Battery) Spatial Span test assesses working memory capacity. The test take approximately 5 minutes to copmlete. White squares are displayed on a screen and some breifly change color in a variable sequence. Particpants are to touch the boxes which changed color in the same order that they were dsiplayed by the computer. The number of boxes increases from two at the start to nine at the end. Sequence and color are varied throughout the test. Outcome measures include span length, errors, number of attempts, and latency.
