Domain: Cognitive Control
- Text Description
Definitions of Cognitive control are disputed. The term ‘cognitive control’ has been used to describe a single finite capacity ‘executive’ system with different theories suggesting a mechanism of ‘top-down’ control (Duncan and Owen, 2000), or a mechanism for the ‘maintenance of an internal representation of a stimulus’ (Miller and Cohen, 2001).
