Domain: Cognitive Control

File:CCnewer.jpg
Cognitive Control as defined by the literature
  • Text Description

Definitions of Cognitive control are disputed. The term ‘cognitive control’ has been used to describe a single finite capacity ‘executive’ system. Duncan and Owen suggest cognitive control involves a mechanism of ‘top-down’ control, while Miller and Cohen suggest cognitive control is the ‘maintenance of an internal representation of a stimulus’.
