Basic Task Description

This task was designed to assess subjects’ abilities to recognize previously presented complex visual scenes, primary landscapes and cityscapes. Stimuli were presented one at a time, and on each trial participants were asked to indicate whether the particular scene was or was not previously presented (i.e., old or new). There were equal numbers of trials in which old and new stimuli were presented. Performance indices include overall accuracy and reaction time as well as accuracy and reaction times to new and old stimuli separately and for correct trials separately.

Dependent Variables

ENC phase: Overall accuracy, RT, and omissions
REC phase: Overall accuracy, RT, and omissions
Mean EncStim accuracy for 1 repeat, 2 repeats, and 3 repeats
Mean, Median and SD of RT for EncStim 1 repeat, 2 repeats, and 3 repeats
Mean RecStim accuracy for 0 repeat
Mean, Median and SD of RT for RecStim 0 repeat
Mean RecStim accuracy for 3 repeats
Mean, Median and SD of RT for RecStim 3 repeats

Note that omission variables are all 0 in the dataset so these are not useful.
