Basic Characteristics

The Weschler Memory Scale is a neuropsychological test that assesses verbal and nonverbal memory ability in adults. The test was developed by David Wechsler to examine learning, memory, and attention using both auditory and visual stimuli. The Scale provides subtets and composite scores on 8 different indexes: auditory immediate, visual immediate, immediate memory, auditory delayed, visual delayed, auditory reception delayed, general memory, working memory. There are both self report or computerized versions of the memory scale.
